Philips label designs

Below are all known UK label designs for Philips catalogue sequences that included classical repertoire between the end of WW2 and the end of 1959. All sequences are mono unless stated - though Philips was late on parade for stereo releases. All sequences concentrated singly on classical music. LP sequences are 12" unless stated.

LPs
The Green Series concentrated on the more popular end of classical music. Philips and subsidiaries seem to have suffered more than other labels for skewiff overprinting on label blanks.

7" singles
By the time Philips released its first 7" Short Play records in 1959, the term "single" was more widespread. This series, started in October 1959, came complete in matching picture sleeves.
