These links lead to recordings with bells of all relevant types, though where the bell is being used as a sound effect, or where they are merely serendipitously heard in the background. Effectively, where they are not the focus of the track nor an intrinsic part.
  • Mr. Bransby Williams, London: A Christmas Carol (by Dickens): "Scrooge": Before the Dream/The Dream
This is a 1915 double-sided HMV reissue of two 1908 one-sided Gramophone Monarch label records by an actor whose speciality was in delivering monologues based on well-known Dicken's characters. There are bells at the end of side 1 and the beginning of side 2. Are these real tower bells or are they studio recreations? Expert advice needed! Meanwhile, the monologue was completed on side 1 of a second record, though no copy could be sourced. The overall structure was the same as on the 1912 Columbia re-recordings linked to below. ​See p. 61 in the book for further information on the two sets of releases.
